Comfort of Companions

0 reviews (0 ratings)

Some people require the motivation of others to start something. If you're a beginner rider and you keep riding the same routes and struggling in the same places, riding in a group can help you diversify your cycling. The social component of cycling is a big part of its appeal, and there's great pleasure in cruising with the pack, catching up with friends, sharing gossip and comparing components. As a cyclist, whether recreational or competitive, riding in a group has many advantages. Some are listed below.

1.You'll get stronger

It's almost a guarantee that many, if not most, of the riders in the group get stronger than they would if they were to train alone. You'll have to push yourself out of your comfort zone, leading to a big improvement and growth in your fitness, mindset, and skills.

2.Youll learn more

Are you pushing too much speed? Not scrolling in the right places? Sometimes it is difficult to see the mistakes we are making unless someone points them out to us. A group would be the perfect solution to this. Every group ride is full of helpful riders who want to share what they know, and a lot of them are quite experienced, so you could learn from their past mistakes as well.

3.You'll feel more confident

You never know what you're capable of until you try. Riding in a group will help you quickly master the many intricacies of cycling and be a stronger and more confident rider. The motivation and hype that come from like-minded and friendly riders is unbeatable.

4.You meet new people

You'll probably make some pretty good friends on your group ride because you're with like-minded people who are looking for a fun way to exercise and socialize. At the same time, youll see a milieu of very diverse riders, giving you all kinds of different perspectives, not only on riding, but also on life. It might help you broaden your horizons, and might even bring opportunities you never even thought of.

4.It's safer

Groups of riders are much more visible. Just make sure you follow the group leader and don't run off the front yourself. You could take a wrong turn and get lost! The group could also help you in case of an emergency. Imagine you get a flat tire and you realize you forgot your tool kit at home. Some person in the group might lend you their extra inner tube, someone might lend you the tyre changing tools, someone might even help you change it. You wont have to suffer alone or for long. Your group will have you covered.

All this to say that group cycling is a lot of fun, and the advantages of riding with like-minded people are super exciting. But that does not mean that riding solo is less fun. That has its own advantages. A rider should decide which suits him best.
